Check-In & Check-Out
Check-in at Hótel Eyja begins at 15:00 — just in time to ease into the day. Arriving early? We’re happy to check if your room is ready, and early check-in can be arranged upon request for an additional fee, subject to availability.
On departure, we kindly ask that you check out by 11:00. If you’re not quite ready to say goodbye, late check-out is also available on request for an additional fee, depending on availability.

Hotel Eyja is proud to be Green Globe certified. Iceland’s only hotel with this level of sustainability accreditation.
Our certification is part of the broader sustainability commitment shared by all Guldsmeden Hotels, where environmental responsibility is at the heart of everything we do.
Key Cards: Please take your room key with you when leaving the room, don’t leave it in the power box unnecessarily.
Water Usage: Help us conserve water by turning off the tap while brushing your teeth or shaving, and by keeping showers short.
Waste Sorting: Feel free to use the recycling bins available in the common areas to sort your waste – every little bit helps!
100% Renewable Energy: All our electricity comes from clean, renewable sources.
Organic Toiletries & Fair-Trade Coffee: Enjoy natural bath products and ethically sourced in-room coffee.
Filtered Icelandic Tap Water: Always fresh, always plastic-free and completely free of charge. Icelandic tap water is some of the purest in the world, sourced directly from natural springs and glaciers. It’s safe to drink straight from the tap and requires no additional filtering or bottling better for your body and the planet.
Cleaning Policy
At Hótel Eyja, we strive to be kind to the environment, and part of that is minimizing unnecessary cleaning during your stay. Being an environmental friendly hotel we are doing our best to minimize the use of recourses like cleaning supplies and water. This is not mandatory, just a gentle request to join us on our sustainability journey.
When you check in, after we’ve informed you about our light-cleaning approach, we’ll ask if you’re okay with this arrangement. Most of our guests happily jump on the green wagon with us!
Of course, if anything happens or you change your mind, just let us know. If you need housekeeping, extra towels, or any other small items, feel free to ask at the reception or speak to the maids on your floor, we’re happy to help.

Towels on the Floor?
We got the message! Towels on the floor mean “please change me.” If you’re happy to reuse, simply hang them up and we thank you for saving water.

Weekdays: 7:00–10:00
Weekends: 7:00–11:00
Everything is hand-picked with care, from freshly baked bread and local skyr to plant-based options and fair-trade coffee.
Bar & Lounge
Unwind in our cozy lobby bar, a perfect spot for a glass of organic wine, Icelandic beer, or a locally inspired cocktail. We champion natural, ethical producers and a relaxed, stylish vibe. Open daily until late. We’ve dialed down the kitchen in the evenings, saving a little energy and a lot of effort.
Still serving warm soups, good sandwiches, and even better vibes.
Happy hour: 16:00-19:00 (4-7 PM) everyday.

Children Policy
Children up to the age of 11 years old get a 30% discount on an extra bed. Extra beds only fit into double superior rooms.
Baby cots available for 6.500 ISK per stay.
Children 5-12 years old pay 1.995 ISK per breakfast
Damage and missing items
Guests are responsible to pay for any damages that occur during their stay and for any missing items.
Non-Smoking Policy
Our hotel is a 100% non-smoking property. Smoking is not permitted in rooms or any indoor common areas. If this policy isn’t respected, a special cleaning fee will be charged to restore the room for the next guest.
